The Lunette menstrual cup is:

  • made of medical-grade silicone in Finland

I’ve always been frustrated with the fact that women are made to feel as if our bodies are dirty. For awhile, I was terrified of the nuvaring birth control. I didn’t like the idea of touching myself. Once I tried it though, I realized it was a great option for me. I also realized it was a great option for so many of my friends, where were just too afraid to try it to begin with. This revelation made me start exploring my options. I recently started using the cheap tampons without the application. They were another item that I thought was too gross to try, but I’m learning that, as a women, my body isn’t gross or nasty. I can touch my lady bits and it’s OKAY. So the menstrual cup is another one of those products that I didn’t really have interest in, until recently. I don’t like the idea of using tampons, as I know they aren’t sanitary. And, from what I’ve read, the menstrual cup is a great option for people who don’t want to give up on their life every time their period comes around. The Lunette cup is my favorite that I’ve researched so far, so it would be great to win one!

The fact that it is made of silicone and not a silicone blend. I am very picky about what materials go inside my body. Only silicone will do for a menstrual cup.

  • Fodra Sun

I love that I don’t need to deal with disposables, and that it’s internal protection that actually works for me.

  • mckmnm

honestly, I just REALLY want to try ANY cup!

  • Julia

I love the cups because they work great and keep me cleaner then tampons or pads. That means fewer messes on my cloths.

  • meljc

I don’t like the feel of pads or tampons

  • Heaven

For one it is made of silicone and the second reason it be good for me is because I hate pads I hate tampons but have to use them. I am usually on the depo shot and usually will clean out every three months because on it I don’t get my period. But after gaining weight on the depo shot as well I am not too sure I want to go back on it. I am loosing all that weight that I had gain and am loving my body more. I can’t really take anything else for birth control because it does not agree with me. If I had one of these it would make my life so much easier I have heard good things about these cups.

  • Heather Douglass

I have never tried one and have heard it would be really great because I hate bulky pads, but I tend to soak through tampons fast.

  • Amanda Selenke

We travel and camp a lot and it’s super easy to clean and use while on the go!

  • Amanda E,

There are many reasons, but a big one is that I teach, and don’t have many opportunities to use the bathroom during the day. This would be great for me!

  • Kat

I use tampons but would love to try a cup since it would be more convenient and no trash to get rid of.

  • Katie Gilmore

It means i’m not exposing myself to all the nasty chemicals that traditional disposal products contain.

  • Courtney Nelles

I use tampons right now, but am interested in starting to use more reusable products. I cloth diaper, so it’s a natural progression.

  • Sadie

This is great to save me from running out of tampons.

  • Sarah McKelvy

It’s great because I find with menstrual cups I don’t leak like I did when wearing tampons.

I like that it’s easy to transport in your purse – baby number 2 will be here soon, so i have no idea when I would need it, but wouldn’t want to be caught out!

  • Kristina Severson

I like that there are no nasty chemicals, no waste, and you don’t have to worry about running out of tampons.

I already use cloth menstrual pads so the switch to menstrual cups isn’t a big one :)
