Vulvodynia is a syndrome wherein the vestibule, and different areas of the vulva occur sensitivity to touch, burning, and pain. The disorder is common, as much as 15% of women report having sometimes suffered typically vulvodynia pain conditions. The syndrome is still relatively little studied and, for example, the reasons for vulvodynia are not known. The triggering factor is estimated to be, among other things, a bacterial infection, recurrent yeast infections or the use of oral contraceptives.
