7 reasons the Lunette Period Cup stands out from the rest

When people first explore menstrual cups, they often assume all cups are the same. But while many look similar, not all cups are created equal. If you’re researching menstrual cups, here are seven standout features that make the Lunette Period Cup a top-tier choice.

1. Dimensions that prioritize comfort

Lunette Period Cup’s design is slightly shorter than many other brands, yet it still maximizes capacity. Why does this matter?

  • A shorter cup = more comfortable wear;
  • Less chance of protrusion or irritation;
  • When properly positioned, you shouldn’t feel it at all.

This makes Lunette Period Cup ideal for users with a lower cervix or those who prioritize discreet comfort.

2. Consistency tailored to your body

Lunette offers two firmness levels:

  • Size 1: Softer, squishier silicone perfect for younger users, beginners, or those with sensitive bladders or cervixes;
  • Size 2: Firmer silicone for easy pop-open and secure placement.

This thoughtful design helps reduce discomfort during insertion and wear.

3. Small, but mighty capacity

Even the smaller Size 1 Lunette Period Cup holds more than a super-plus tampon. That means:

  • Fewer bathroom trips;
  • More freedom during heavy flow days;
  • Up to 25–30 ml capacity depending on size.

4. Smoother rim for easier insertion

Lunette’s rim is gently contoured - not overly pronounced making insertion smoother and more comfortable. For many users, this subtle design tweak makes a big difference.

1.     Flat, flexible stem = no poking

The flat stem is:

  • Flexible and discreet;
  • Easy to grip during removal;
  • Solid (no hollow space for bacteria or blood buildup).

If you choose to keep the stem, it’s designed to stay out of sight and out of mind.

6. Easy-to-clean design

Lunette’s cup features:

  • Larger air holes for better suction release and easier cleaning;
  • A smooth interior surface with no inscriptions or ridges that trap blood.

This means faster rinsing and better hygiene between uses.

7.  FDA approved colors that spark joy

Lunette Period Cups come in a range of vibrant, FDA-approved colors. Because even if no one sees it, you deserve something beautiful especially during a time when you might not feel your best.

I’m a little confused with sizing. I want to buy my first cup but not sure if I should get size 1 or 2. I’m 28 and I’ve had 2 kids. I think my cervix is medium to high? I don’t know if there’s a medium or not but I know it’s not low. The part that confused me was the bladder issue. I go 1 to 2 times an hour so I’m concerned the size 2 will be uncomfortable and make me want to go more. Any input would be appreciated!
