HOW TO USE A PERIOD CUP

Our cups are designed to offer a comfortable, eco-friendly, and hassle-free period experience. With the right technique and a little practice, you'll master it in no time.

WASH HANDS & PREP

Before first use, boil the cup for 5 minutes. Watch so it does not hit the bottom or the sides of the pot.

Before insertion, always wash your hands thoroughly to maintain hygiene. Ensure the air holes near the rim of the cup are clear, and if not, clean them gently without using any hard objects.

Clean your cup using Lunette Cup Wash, specially formulated for medical-grade silicone, and rinse with warm water.

FOLD & HOLD

Find a comfortable position - sitting, standing, or squatting. Relax your pelvic muscles to ease insertion.

Fold the cup into a C-shape by flattening it and then folding it in half. This shape makes insertion smoother and more intuitive.

Explore alternative folds like the punch-down or 7-fold to find what works best for your anatomy.

INSERT THE CUP

Keep the cup folded and gently guide it rim-first into the vaginal canal, aiming toward your lower back (not straight up).

For an extra smooth experience, you can add a tiny drop of Lunette Lube, a water‑based, pH-balanced lubricant to help the cup glide in with ease.

Once inserted, use a clean finger to check that the cup has fully opened - it should feel round and firm.

The Lunette cup can be used throughout your cycle, from heavy to light flow days.

WEAR & LEARN YOUR FLOW

You can wear the Lunette cup for up to 12 hours, even overnight.*

Depending on your flow, it may need to be emptied 2 - 4 times daily. Use the measuring lines on the cup to monitor your menstrual volume and better understand your cycle rhythm and flow.

* However, local restrictions may
apply. Legislations in FR, DE and AUS limit the use up to 8 hours, in FR no
overnight use reccomended.

REMOVE & EMPTY

Wash your hands and relax. Gently grasp the base of the cup not the stem and pinch to release the suction seal. Tilt the cup slightly to break the seal and remove it slowly. Empty the contents into the toilet, rinse, and reinsert or store.

CLEAN & SANITIZE

After each use and at the beginning and end of your cycle, clean your cup thoroughly.

Start with a cold water rinse to prevent discoloration, followed by a hot water wash preferably using Lunette Cup Wash. After each cycle, sterilize the cup, by boiling in water for up to 5 minutes.

Let it self-dry and then store in the 100% linen pouch that comes with your Lunette Period Cup.

Voilà, now your cup is ready to use for your next cycle!
